What documents and guarantees do you provide?

Each puppy leaves Splendor Farms for their new home with the following:

• Copy of sire's American Kennel Club (AKC) pedigree and DNA certificate
• Copy of dam's AKC pedigree
• AKC registration application
• Record of current vaccinations & worming, including vaccine labels showing lot number & expiration date. Until our puppies go to their new homes, they are vaccinated at 6, 9, 12, & 15 weeks of age, and wormed every 7-10 days at 2 to 6 weeks of age. Puppies 18 weeks of age or older are vaccinated for rabies.
• Health check from our veterinarian. Our puppies get a comprehensive vet check, not just a quick once-over. Puppies who are flying will get a Health Certificate.
• Packet of goodies unique to each puppy
• 72-hour money back guarantee for infectious diseases, verified by your veterinarian & confirmed by our veterinarian.
• 1-year money back guarantee for life-threatening genetic disorders, verified by your veterinarian & confirmed by our veterinarian.

Our puppies are checked by our veterinarian before they leave for their new homes. We guarantee that, at the time they leave our care, they are free of fleas, ticks, ear mites, intestinal worms, & infectious diseases. Our veterinarian checks for any sign of genetic defects. We guarantee that, at the time they leave our care, our puppies are free of any obvious genetic defects, and that our vet found no genetic defects during his examination.

What are my responsibilities?

It is your responsibility to take your new puppy to your veterinarian as soon as possible after they arrive in your home for a comprehensive health check-up. Remember, due to their age, puppies may not have had all their required vaccinations yet, and must never be exposed to other pets until your veterinarian has verified that all the pets in your home are completely healthy and free of parasites & infectious diseases. We advise you to have your new puppy vet checked the same day you get them, if at all possible. Failure to have your new puppy veterinarian checked within 72 hours, or failure to have all other pets in your home veterinarian checked before exposing your new puppy to them will void the 72-hour money back guarantee against infectious diseases.

Under no circumstances should you ever surrender your dog to an animal shelter! If you should ever find yourself in a situation where you cannot keep your dachshund, and you cannot find a suitable, loving home for them, we ask that you contact us for help with placement of your doxie in another home. If necessary, we will gladly come to pick them up and provide a loving home for them until they can be placed elsewhere.

How do I get my new puppy home?

Your puppy can be picked up when they are 8-weeks-old.
Your puppy can be shipped when they are 10-weeks-old.

You are always welcome to pick up your new puppy here in Bush, Louisiana. Come in, have a Dr. Pepper or a cup of coffee, and visit with us a while. We'd love to meet you, and show off our Pookies!

We can also bring your new puppy to meet you as far as Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Hattiesburg, or Biloxi, MS, at no additional cost. This could save you as much as 2 hours off your round trip travel time. If you need us to travel farther, arrangements can be made for an additional fee. To calculate the amount of the delivery fee, contact us with the closest city to you.

We can also safely ship your puppy to you via the airlines, weather permitting. We use Delta Airlines and Continental. We will determine which airline to use based on destination and the best available flight schedule for the puppy. We will make all the necessary preparations and reservations for your puppy's flight. Shipping for ONE puppy is $300.00 to anywhere in the 48 continental United States, and must be paid in full no later than 1 week prior to shipment.

Shipping charges include:

• Airfare [$215.00],
• An FAA approved puppy kennel that you get to keep [$25],
• Veterinary Health Certificate, necessary for airline travel [$25],
• Mailing of your puppy kit, puppy papers, contract & written guarantee
  via Priority Certified/Return Receipt U.S. Mail [$10],
• Our extra time & travel involved in shipping [$25].

If you are having TWO puppies shipped to you, we can ship them both in the same puppy kennel for an additional $50. For shipping charges to destinations outside the 48 continental United States, please contact us for a quote.

Do I need to place a deposit?

Yes, we require a deposit of $100.00 of the purchase price to hold your new puppy. We cannot hold a puppy until we have received a deposit. Deposits must be made on a specific puppy. Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable, except in the case of illness, injury, or death of a puppy prior to your receiving the puppy. By 8 weeks of age, any remaining balance is due in full.

How can I pay for my puppy?

We accept cash, check or Paypal. There is a 3.5% surcharge to cover Paypal fees. (see Paypal Fee Table below)

We will also accept your U.S. Postal Service money order. We do NOT accept money orders issued by any other institution. U.S. Postal Service money orders should be sent via an overnight service, like Express Mail, Federal Express, or UPS, to:

We will accept your cash payment in person. Bounced check fee is $30.00.

Do you accept payment plans?

Yes, we accept payment plans for puppies that cost more than $500.00.

When I bought my first English Creams for $2500.00 each, the breeder I bought them from was kind enough to offer me a payment plan and I do the same for any buyer of a Splendor Farms puppy that costs more than $500.00. With all puppies, a $100.00 deposit is required to reserve your puppy. At pick up (9 weeks), the remaining balance must be paid if your puppy is under $500.00.

For puppies that cost more than $500.00, the following payment plan is offered:

• Initial deposit, $100.00
• At 6 weeks of age, $200.00
• At 9 weeks of age, 1/2 of remaining balance
• No later than 15 weeks of age, the balance must be paid

Upon full payment, the registration, or bill of sale will be sent to you. I'm willing to work with each buyer on an individual payment plan, but the above plan has worked well for all. Please contact me with questions.

Do you have a waiting list for future puppies?

  from the upcoming Gigi & Mikey litter.
