"Miss Lilly "

| |
This is Miss Lilly, a very pretty 14.5 hand palomino mare in foal. She is boarding here and the foal is offered for sale. The owners bought her from a Rescue Sale and do not know who the sire is. She is due to foal in late spring or early summer.
"Chocolate Chip"

| |
My big man. Chocolate Chip. Big, stout, sure-footed, an easy ride for the beginner rider. Never spooky and very easy going.
"Moonshine"
(sold)

| |
Moonshine came from a Mississippi ranch. He is only for very experienced riders! Love his blue eyes and cremello color!
"Star"

| |
Star, beautiful Star, is our Palomino broodmare. Star has been at Splendor Farms the longest (12 years). I will breed her again this year. She is retired from riding due to a bad hip, but when you do get on her, she still thinks it's time to barrel race. I need to find her a suitable partner...All her babies are gorgeous, palominos, buckskins, paints, and sorrels....what color will she throw next year?
"Domino"

| |
This
is Domino. He is a retired polo pony who came to me 300 pounds
underweight. Splendor Farms is known for its' R & R facilities
not just for people, but for animals, too. We are members
of Hooved Animal Rescue Placement (HARP)
and Collie & Dachshund Rescue programs. Domino is for
experienced riders only. You won't get much pleasure unless
you're always ready to run!

"Kimmie" (a.k.a., "Whispering Kimmie") is back!!

| |
Went by the sale barn the other day and saw a big bay mare standing there looking at me.....owner comes by and starts telling me the story about her and how she was at a riding facility before she came to him from a dressage barn...I looked at him and said "I was the riding facility....that is Kimmie and I want her back!" So, here she is back for any intermediate riders for the trail! She really isn't so dainty anymore though....while she was gone she had two foals and put on about 400 pounds! I think she grew two hands, too! Welcome home, beautiful!
"Ernie"
(sold)

| |
Ernie just came off the set of "Jonah Hex" - a movie filmed partly around the St. Francisville, Louisiana area. He is one of the major stars in this movie, especially in the "train scene." He is a 16.1 hand bay roan gelding and is only for very experienced riders! This is Travis riding him in the arena.
"Jake" (sold)

| |
Jake. One of the best horses we have for camp and one of our Jr. Counselors thinks so too! She has been riding him for year and a half!
A great camp/birthday party horse. Can you believe he is allergic to grass?! Yes, he gets an allergy shot every month. A 15 hand sorrel gelding with a very easy attitude!
"Cash"

| |
Cash is a sweet, puppy-dog like gelding. Easy going and perfect for beginners and older children with some experience.
"Cocoa Bean"
(sold)

| |
This guy is gorgeous, but spooky. You have to know how to ride the Cocoa Bean. He can be a perfect ride, then spook on the trail if a dog runs out of the woods. We don't have any problem riding him, and we are working to get him out of this by riding him frequently, jumping out from behind trees with feed sacks and generally using him every chance. We are hoping that he will calm down on the trails. For now he is a good camp/birthday party horse as he really does well in the arena. If you know how to ride, keep your seat, and want a gorgeous, shorter horse....the bean is for you!
"Trooper"

| |
15 hands of solid good. This palomino gelding is Trooper. Camp, trail, & birthday party horse! Hard to catch, but worth every effort. Flashy, but a little bit of a loner on the trail. He doesn't like any other horses too close to his back end...but, who does! A beginner/intermediate level rider.
"Ace"
(sold)

| |
Ace is a feisty walking welsh pony/small horse gelding. He is solid black with a small white ace (star) and we love him, but you gotta know how to ride and not be too tall or you will look foolish on him! Very good looking little man and a beautiful mover under english or western tack.
"Buster" (sold)

| |
Buster, a 15 hand bay gelding, has been on the camp circuits for a while now. I got him from another camp and used him last year and sold him after camp. On a visit to the sale barn noticed he was still there last winter so bought him back. He is a perfect beginner horse for camps and long trail rides. Kinda spooky when tied up, but that is his only bad habit. We just don't tie him up!
"Cisco"
(sold)

| |
Cisco, a perfect gentleman. He was bought after seeing a video of him in the Ft. Worth stockyards walking the brick streets with a dog in his saddle and a man on the back. Yep, he'll do! A nice, 7 year old buckskin gelding. He'll ride all day, the same as he rode at 10 a.m., as he will be at 4 p.m. Beginner level to Intermediate.
"Smoky" (sold) & "Gracie"

| |
These two are my Mutt & Jeff or city v. country guys...both are draft horses, Smoky from City Park, in New Orleans, is a part Percheron pony and Gracie, a huge draft mare from a Kentwood, Louisiana dairy farm. I trust both of them with children. Although Gracie is large, we still have a weight limit of 250 pounds, for both your and our horses comfort!
"Duke"

| |
Duke. What an investment....$400.00 with tack. I can put 10-year-old kids on him and little ole ladies and he's a perfect gentleman....A nice bay gelding with a beautiful tail - and a great gait. Worth 3 times what I paid for him! Welcome to Splendor Farms.
"Kay" (sold)

| |
"Every kiss begins with..."
My beautiful bay roan, Kay, and I say hello upon my return from a Mexico vacation! She is a jewel to ride, very quiet and sweet. Always looking for a treat!

Kay & Kelly
"Thunder"

| |
Thunder, a retired thoroughbred is only for experienced riders. He is fast and faster...will walk when you make him. A fun ride! Bought him off a delapidated trailer with no roof in the pouring down rain in my driveway. Price - $150.00. He cribs, but so what?!
"Sunny Delight"

| |
This big sorrel gelding with the flaxen mane is a delight. For beginners. Sunny D only goes on our short rides as he is an old ranch horse with bad hocks. We keep him buted and the big guy does great. A perfect camp & birthday party horse, too!
"Otis"

| |
His name should be Gumbo! He is a mix of appaloosa, paint, and gray. Lotta gas, experienced to upper level intermediate. He is 14 hands and very full of himself... A fun ride for the experienced rider.
"Smokey"
(sold)

| |
Smokey is a 15 hand gray gelding. A perfect beginner riding horse and an awesome camp horse. Will turn the drums and bend the poles with the best, but then settle down with a western pleasure horse walk and take you for a ride. A very pleasant ride!
"Bandit"
(sold)

| |
We got Bandit in the same haul as Smokey. Thus, Smokey & the Bandit. A great pair on the trail for an intermediate rider and a beginner spouse, partner, or friend. He is 15 hands and almost a grullo in the winter instead of the buckskin color in the summer. A good camp horse, too!
"Leo"

| |
Leo, our rock star..actually, he was owned by the singer of Trick Pony band. He is a 16 hand leopard appaloosa and a great ride for a beginner, intermediate, or experienced rider. He is also a good camp horse. Really never thought I would have a polka dot horse, but I love riding him myself! Smooth trot, nice lope. He is all you could ask for on the trails!
"Snoopy" (sold)

| |
Snoopy is a 15 hand red dun, 20 year old PERFECT ride. He does it all! Trails, Barrels, Poles, & birthday parties. A western pleasure dream and walks, trots, and lopes with ease. NO VERY BEGINNERS.
"Rio"
| |
Rio....the best of the best. Honest, gentle, smooth, perfect every day. Wish I had 10 more just like him. A 14.5 hand sorrel gelding from the Peppy San Badger line. More common sense than is allowed in a horse. Beginner riders' dream!
"Stillwater" (sold)

| |
Stillwater, is a 15.5 hand sorrel gelding once owned by the husband of the daughter of a past president of the AQHA. Was told he hadn't been ridden since Katrina, but the look in his eye said, pick me, so I did. Needs more work, but an intermediate to an experienced rider would enjoy him on the trails. Very pretty horse and nice ground manners. Not spooky, just forgets sometimes who is in charge. If you are capable of riding a horse that needs guidance....ask for Stillwater.
"Rooster"

| |
Rooster is a beautiful 16 hand Buckskin. Perfect for intermediate riders. Very western horse.
