Welcome to the Splendor Farms Bed & Breakfast,
a new "off-the-beaten-path" escape in Bush, Louisiana
Situated on a working 30-acre farm one hour from the French Quarter of New Orleans,
Splendor Farms Bed & Breakfast offers
comfortable, family-friendly B&B accommodations in a relaxed
country farm setting. We have 3 guest bedrooms,
a private guest apartment, swimming pool, poolside jacuzzi, horseback riding,
and nearby hiking, biking, and nature trails. Just 1/4 mile
up the road is the scenic Bogue Chitto River, where you can
go horseback riding, fishing, canoeing, tubing, or just
have a picnic and enjoy all the nature surrounding you. A fun, relaxing place for adults, Splendor Farms is especially
memorable for children, who can help us gather eggs in our
hen house or enjoy a playful romp with long-haired miniature
dachshunds at our kennel
(we also have horses, cows, goats,
chickens, and cats). We serve bountiful "farm-style"
breakfasts that often feature organic eggs produced by our
very own hens, or something fresh from our fruit and vegetable
gardens (we also supply organic produce to area restaurants
and health food stores).
Please see below for
photos of the B&B at Splendor Farms, and feel
free to contact us if you have
questions. We hope to see you on the farm soon...we know
you'll enjoy your stay so much you'll want to come back again
and again!

These two brothers were abandoned by their mom. Splendor Farms has added them to our latest addition, our petting zoo! |

Another new addition to the farm - Meat Producing Boer Goats! The buck placed first in the American Meat Goat Association competition recently in Huntsville, Alabama. His herd is MawMaw Chanel, up close, then little Cisco, sisters Jano and KayKay, and Vivien Leigh (sassy long ears!) They follow you around like dogs! Don't worry, Cisco will become a weather and the girls will be providing us with meat stock next fall! Welcome to Splendor Farms, Buck and his ladies! |

Billy and Bob are brothers and love to eat animal crackers!

Well, Roberto and his sons have built the Taj Mahal of goat houses!
I'm surprised they didn't add a second floor!
What was supposed to be a little leanto
has become a $2500.00 project. Roberto sure takes pride in his work!!
Life on the Farm
Everyone takes their time
leaving Splendor Farms! We had over 40 Canadian geese stay
with us this winter, and these 3 were the last ones hanging
around. And did you notice the Great Grey Heron on the left
behind the pond? (Great!) The horse is Breeze,
taking a leisurely drink from one of our stock ponds.
Larry McKinney of Richardson, TX spent one morning learning how to shoe a horse! Mr. Keen was fun to watch and Lightning loved the extra attention!

On his way back from birdwatching, Larry stops to visit with Captain.
