Welcome to the dachshund kennel at Splendor Farms in Bush, Louisiana. We breed champion long-haired miniature dachshunds, and sell dachshund puppies to loving homes and reputable breeders.

My husband Albert and I fell in love with long-haired miniature dachshunds eight years ago - when we bought the original "Pookie" - and we've been breeding them ever since. After Pookie, we got Precious, Phoebe, Patsy, Princess, Prince, Pearl, Paris and Pippi. Then I bought a few dachshunds that already had names that didn't start with "P". Good thing, too, since I was running out of cute "P" names!

Splendor Farms' dachshunds are all kept on a monthly heartworm and flea preventative, current on all vaccinations and make regular yearly visits to their veterinarian, Dr. Rusty Maher, in Covington, for check ups and teeth cleaning. All puppies come with a 4 week, 6 week, 8 week, and 12 week schedule, depending on age of release and program set for each individual litter. All puppies will be wormed and free of fleas upon delivery. We strive to keep our pets in a clean and parasite free environment. This effort is to ensure their health, comfort, and your confidence in receiving a pet that has been raised with extraordinary care for his/her new home. All puppies have been raised in a home environment around children, adults, and cats. They are handled on a daily basis and are well adapted to human companionship. Splendor Farms highly recommends crate training but finds that a new puppy is a happy puppy when allowed to sleep with his/her new parents.

We are proud of our dachshunds and our reputation as a conscientious breeder is very important to us. We will only sell puppies to loving homes as lifetime companions, or to reputable breeders who we trust to provide safe, healthy, happy homes for our puppies.

We do NOT:

  • sell puppies to puppy mills, puppy brokers, or pet stores under any circumstances.
  • ship, deliver, nor allow pick up of puppies through a third party.
  • sell puppies to anyone unless we have spoken with them directly and conducted an interview.

I hope you enjoy our new website! It features photos of virtually all of our dachshunds, including puppies, moms & future moms, dads & future dads, and english creams. It even has info on upcoming litters, including photos and pedigrees of expecting parents.

If you're interested in buying a puppy, be sure to read our purchasing info page. Or feel free to contact us any time if you have questions about our dachshunds.

Thanks and enjoy!
